The perks of PERC

“We train surgeons, identify barriers, and build the tools to overcome them” - Dr. Garcia

Trusted Expertise

Dr. Garcia is a highly experienced minimally invasive foot & ankle surgeon who has been at the forefront of the MIS movement

In 2019, Dr. Garcia trained at one of five medical centers nationwide offering patients comprehensive MIS solutions. Over the past six years, he has performed over 500 MIS procedures - cultivating extensive surgical and clinical expertise

In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Garcia has successfully implemented MIS peri-operative protocols that maximize reimbursement, expand patient referral bases, and capture significant market share

He has also contributed to the development of MIS instrumentation and technology, holding several related patents. Currently, Dr. Garcia serves as a physician advisor for multiple companies in the medical device and biotechnology industry

Dr. Garcia’s commitment to innovation and instruction makes him a trusted leader in the field of minimally invasive foot surgery.

Pioneering Technology

The steep learning curve associated with minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery has established the need for guiding instrumentation that can lower the threshold for provider entry as well as increase procedure consistency and reproducibility.

At PERC, we draw from our extensive MIS experience and the direct input from our physician clients, to develop enabling technologies, protocols, and procedures that will further the practice of minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery

In 2024, we devised the Bunion-NET™ system to address the gaps in the minimally invasive portfolio for (Tailor’s) Bunionette correction. Our patented approach avoids the pitfalls of free-floating osteotomies and overcomes the limitations of stemmed implants with a seamless “2-stitch” approach

Currently we are developing enabling instrumentation to assist in MIS limb-salvage applications

Turning Clinical Problems into Surgeon-Inspired Solutions

Concept Refinement

Breakthroughs in surgical innovation happen in the operating room NOT the board room.

We work directly with surgeons to extract functional requirements from even the most rudimentary sketch — translating operative insight into defined design parameters.

Through structured discussion, workflow mapping, and feasibility analysis, your concept evolves from bar-napkin to blueprint

Digitization & Computer Aided Design

Your concept is transformed into a precision digital model using advanced CAD development. Geometry, tolerances, ergonomics, and mechanical interaction are optimized for real-world application.

Exportable STL and 3MF files are generated for additive fabrication, design iteration, and intellectual property documentation — ensuring your innovation is both testable and defensible.

Prototyping & Proof-of-Concept

Engineered files are translated into high-fidelity physical prototypes using precision additive manufacturing. Materials and fabrication parameters are selected to approximate intended performance and durability.

The result is a bench-grade instrument ready for structured evaluation, cadaver lab deployment, and proof-of-concept validation.
